Corporate events
Magic for corporate events
Launches, galas, conferences, trade shows and client evenings. One performer, three formats, and a page for each kind of evening.
What it is for
Entertainment is not the point. The room is.
Every corporate evening has a moment it is quietly worried about. The first hour, when three hundred people who half know each other are holding a drink and looking at their phones. The twenty minutes after the last award. Day two of a trade show, when nobody is stopping any more.
Close-up magic is bought for exactly those moments. No stage, no sound, no slot in the programme, and it gives people something to say to a stranger. That is the deliverable. The magic is the mechanism.
Corporate, and only corporate
VIP Magician takes company work: launches, galas, conferences, trade shows, client evenings, staff celebrations. No children's parties, no family celebrations. Saying so here saves a phone call.
Not snobbery, craft. A room of people who negotiate for a living needs different material and a different pace than a birthday does. Doing one well means not pretending to do both.
The reel
What it looks like from the side of the room
Two and a half minutes settle what a page of copy only argues.
The reel plays from Vimeo and only loads once you press play.
By occasion
Find the evening you are organising
Each one written for that occasion: what the room is doing, where the act sits in the schedule, what tends to go wrong.
-
Product launch The reveal, done by someone who reveals things for a living. -
Gala and awards The pivot between the dinner and the dancing. -
Trade shows Stopping traffic on a stand, and holding it long enough to talk. -
Conferences The coffee break, and the twenty minutes before the keynote. -
Client events Twelve people you cannot afford to bore.
Three ways he is booked
Most evenings want close-up at the reception and a stage set after dinner. If there is room for one, the evening decides which.
By place
Where these evenings happen
Based in the Netherlands, quoted for anywhere. These are the cities the calendar keeps returning to.
- Dubai October to April, and a calendar built out of trade fairs.
- London Awards season, livery halls, and a room that has seen everything.
- Geneva Banking, watches, and rooms where discretion is the brief.
- Davos One week in January, and a town with no spare capacity.
- Monaco Show weeks, hospitality suites, and two brands that stay apart.
From the floor
Receptions, dinners, stands, decks
The rooms this act works in. Nothing staged for the camera.
-
Around the table, mid-spread -
Set for dinner, nobody in yet -
Black tie, and the middle left open -
Arm's length, no table
