Which document applies

Every booking with Richard Stooker Productions, trading as VIP Magician, runs under the Dutch general terms and conditions issued by the company. They are linked from every quote and published here in full. The Dutch text is the binding version; the summary below is there so you know what you are agreeing to before you open a PDF.

What a booking is

A booking exists once a quote has been accepted in writing, by email or by signature. The quote states the format, the performing time, the date, the venue, the fee, and the travel and accommodation costs. Anything not on the quote is not part of the booking.

Payment

Quotes to companies are stated excluding VAT, with VAT shown as its own line. Invoices are issued after the event unless the quote says otherwise, and are payable within the term printed on them. Dates that require flights or accommodation booked far in advance can carry an advance payment, and where that applies the quote says so before you sign.

Cancellation and postponement

Cancellation terms scale with notice: the closer to the date, the more of the fee stands. Travel and accommodation already booked and not refundable are charged on at cost. If your event is postponed rather than cancelled, moving the booking to a new date is always attempted first, and no cancellation charge applies where a new date can be agreed.

If the performer cannot appear through illness or force majeure, you are told immediately, the booking is cancelled at no cost to you, and help finding a replacement is offered.

At the venue

A stage set needs a working microphone, a light and a surface. Close-up needs nothing. Where a venue imposes its own crew charges, security requirements or access restrictions, those are your responsibility as the organiser and appear on the quote where they are known in advance.

Liability insurance is held by the performer and sits inside the fee. A certificate is provided on request.

Recording and publicity

You may photograph and film the performance at your own event and use the material for your own communications. Nothing is published from your event by VIP Magician without your written consent, and your company will not be named as a client without it.

Governing law

Dutch law applies to every booking, and disputes are heard by the competent Dutch court, as set out in the general terms and conditions.
