Corporate stage show
Close-up gives four hundred people four hundred private moments. A stage set gives them one moment together, and a room that gasps in unison remembers the evening differently.
Where it works
The slot after the speeches
The hardest twenty minutes of any corporate evening arrive once the CEO has spoken, the awards are handed out, and the room has to move from listening to celebrating. A stage set covers that gap without asking anyone to stand up or hold hands.
It also opens a conference day, where two hundred strangers have to become one audience before the first keynote, and it pivots a gala between the dinner and the dancing.

What it is not
Three things this set deliberately avoids
No illusion boxes
No cabinets, no assistants, no truck. Everything travels in hand luggage, which is also why a show in Dubai costs what it costs.
No volunteer humiliation
People do come up, and they come back down looking better than they went up. Your guests are not props, and a CFO made to look foolish tells that story too.
No merchandise close
The set finishes on the effect, not on a plug for a website or a stack of business cards on the way out.
Production
What your AV team needs to know
Sound
One radio microphone, headset or lapel, on a channel that is his for the duration. With no PA he can carry a room of about eighty without one.
Light
A general wash, bright enough that the back row can read a hand. Nothing moving, nothing cued, nothing that has to follow him.
Stage
Three by two metres is plenty. A riser is better than a floor for anything over a hundred guests, purely for sightlines.
Sightlines
The one genuine constraint. Round tables with backs to the stage cost more than any lighting decision will. Send the floor plan and he will say honestly whether the room wants a stage set at all.
The reel
Watching beats reading
Two and a half minutes from real rooms. Cut from bookings rather than filmed for a website.
The reel plays from Vimeo and only loads once you press play.

Questions worth asking before you book
Can the set carry a product message?
Yes, and it is worth doing properly or not at all. A message that lands is built into an effect, so the reveal and the point arrive in the same second. Bolted onto the front, it is remembered as the sponsor read. Brief him early and the first option is on the table.
How late in the evening can it go?
Later than a keynote, earlier than the band. After about eleven the room stops watching things and starts doing things, and a stage set placed after that competes with the bar and loses.
Does he host as well?
He can carry the links between programme items, which suits an awards evening where a professional host would be too much. He is not a substitute for a compere on a full day conference.
What happens if the running order slips?
It always does. The set can be cut to twenty minutes or stretched to forty from the stage, without anything visibly missing. Tell him on the night and it will not be your problem.

What the format looks like in a room
Photographs from real bookings rather than a studio. The rooms differ; the distance to the nearest guest does not.

Send the running order
Date, city, guest count and the slot you have in mind. If the room is wrong for a stage set you will be told that instead of sold one.
